Morgan, may I direct your attension to some excellent resources regarding the Mac? First, a link where you can find a variety of guides for using voiceover http://www.icanworkthisthing.com/docs/mac_with_voiceover/index.shtml
Next, a document that I believe you will find very helpfull in getting started with your mac called using mac applications with voiceover the Leopard Addition which can be found at: http://www.icanworkthisthing.com/docs/mac_with_voiceover/Using_Mac_Applications_with_Voiceover_the_Leopard_Edition.shtml
If you have furtherquestions please ask and have a great day. Welcome to the lighter side of life! Okay! perhaps I forgot to answer your question. Although I teach both mac and windows I prefer using the mac with voiceover. I rarely boot the windows machine unless I need office applications or to try software to assist my clients. Have a great day.
Wow you got a Mac mOrgan? Very cool. Didn't even realise you were thinking about getting one. Let me also direct you to a great email list, located at http://macvisionaries.com. Go to mailing lists once you get to that site, and there's a general discussions list there which you can subscribe to. A lot of good knowledgeable people there. Since when did you get your mac, and what ya got? MacBook? MacBook pro? IMac? I'd also be glad to help if you have any questions.
I started at mac visionaries and it's excellent.

Ah cool if you're considering getting a mac, that'd be cool, but nice that you have access to one that you can experiment with to see if you like it.
